Eason Spelling Bee 2018

Sponsored Walk 2018/ Green School Travel Flag.

On the 27th of February ,2018 the whole school from 1st class to 6th class got together for our School Sponsored Walk and  Travel Flag Action Day. Lisa O Grady from the  An Taisce Travel Team joined us. Scoil Mhuire Success at Feis Maitiú

On February 28th, 36 of our 5th class pupils competed in the annual Feis Maitiú competition in Cork City. Feis Maitiú is an annual music and drama festival held in Fr. Mathew Hall in Cork City . Our 5th class ensemble took 1st place in the category ' Group Action Song' receiving the award of 'Outstanding' from the adjudicator  for their medley of songs from Mary Poppins. Farewell Jimmy- Seamus an t-Airíoch

On Wednesday 31st of January 2018 we bade farewell to our caretaker Jimmy Healy. Jimmy first started working in Scoil Mhuire in 1993 and went on to spend more than 24 years working with us! As well as fulfilling  his role of caretaker , Jimmy was a very important member of the Scoil Mhuire community. Dell-EMC VEX Robotics IQ Competition 2018

On Wednesday the 17th of January a team of 21 girls from 5th and 6th class took part in the held in the Cork Institute of Technology. Over 20 teams from various   schools took part in this event on the 17th, the first day of a three day event. The girls have been working hard with their teachers Iníon Uí Lomasna and Iníon Uí Dhonnabhaín on designing, building and programming a robot since September. Whole School Christmas Carol Concert

On  the 20th of December , 2017 the church of St Mary and St John was alive with the sound of music from the wonderful pupils of Scoil Mhuire. Each class level came together and sang or performed two Christmas songs ranging from the more traditional Christmas Carols to more contemporary festive tunes .
