STEM Fun: Robotics Workshop with 4th class

We have set up accounts for the children in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th classes on Typing.com. The children will have a chance to practise touch typing during their weekly computer class. 4th Class School Tour – Crag Cave

It was quite a journey to Crag Caves in County Kerry on a hot day -but it was well worth the trip! We had a busy day that started off with a guided tour down the cave - we saw stalagmites and stalactites! This was followed by Falconry flying display. We really enjoyed crazy cave and the playdium. Senior Infants School Tour – Rumley’s Open Farm

  Senior Infants had a great day at Rumley's Open Farm. We saw lots of baby animals, some cows being milked, a huge and heavy ostrich egg, pigs, goats, donkeys and some buffalo but to name a few of the sights! We also got to enjoy the playground, crazy golf, the zip-wire, the go-karts and each class had a ride on the tractor. It was a busy day but we enjoyed every minute! ...

Active School Week – Are you ready?

Next week it will be Active School Week here at Scoil Mhuire. We aim to include a variety of fun activities that everyone can enjoy. Science Club

This school year saw Scoil Mhuire introduce an after school science club for the first time. It was offered for a block of 6 weeks, for an hour after school on Wednesdays, to girls in 5th and 6th classes and was entirely optional. The uptake was fantastic as the girls are generally very interested in science and curious about the world around them. In total the club ran three times in the year allowing 36 children ...

Romeo and Juliet

On May 16th 2017, Fourth Class received a Creative Schools award for their 20 minute Promenade Theatre production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’. This involved students performing five scenes not on a stage but in five different locations (outdoors and indoors) around the school.
