Scoil Mhuire Success at Feis Maitiú

On February 28th, 36 of our 5th class pupils competed in the annual Feis Maitiú competition in Cork City. Feis Maitiú is an annual music and drama festival held in Fr. Mathew Hall in Cork City . Our 5th class ensemble took 1st place in the category ‘ Group Action Song’ receiving the award of ‘Outstanding’ from the adjudicator  for their medley of songs from Mary Poppins. The main feature of the performance was an ode to the centenary of women’s right to vote. Our 5th class suffragettes were very proud to bring the Geraldine Foley-Campion Perpetual Shield back to Scoil Mhuire . To quote the written report from the adjudicator, “their performance was a joy to behold”. All of us here in Scoil Mhuire couldn’t agree more. Comhghairdeas libh a  Chailíní. A special words of thanks also to their hard wording teachers Iníon Ui Chochláin and accompanist Iníon Uí Ailíosa.
