The Board of Management plays a central role in the life and work of Scoil Mhuire. It works in partnership with the Principal, staff, parents and wider school community to support the effective running and continued development of the school.
A Board of Management is made up of representatives from a range of groups within the school community. This includes the principal, nominees of the school patron, parent nominees, a teacher nominee and members of the wider community. Together, the board works collaboratively to ensure that Scoil Mhuire is managed effectively and that the best interests of the pupils remain at the centre of all decision-making.
The role of the Board of Management is wide-ranging and includes responsibilities relating to:
- school policies and governance
- finance and budgeting
- health and safety
- school buildings and maintenance
- child safeguarding
- staffing and recruitment
- supporting teaching and learning
- planning for the future development of the school
The board also works to ensure that the ethos of Scoil Mhuire is upheld and that a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment is maintained for all pupils.
Members of the Board of Management give generously of their time and expertise on a voluntary basis and play a very important role in supporting the ongoing work of the school community.
The current board of management will be in office until November 2027.
